Meet Stevie.
Stevie is a 7 year old, Appendix Quarter Horse gelding who is in training to be a show hunter and dabbles in pleasure riding with his amateur owner in North Carolina. Stevie had a history of chronic ulcers, being nervous, with flighty behavior, dull coat, dramatic weight and muscle loss since March of 2019. When his owner came to me in August of this year (see first picture below), she was desperate to help her friend thrive again and confused by all the mixed advice she was receiving. Multiple rounds of Veterinarian prescribed PPIs, endoscopy of his stomach, a multitude of mainstream feeds and supplements did little to nothing to help Stevie’s ulcers, body score, or demeanor.
TODAY, after 5 months of species appropriate nutritional therapy, A LOT of patience and diligence, Stevie is PLUMP, HAPPY, HAS A GORGEOUS COAT, and best of all his Succeed test was negative (ulcers appear to be healed)! His Veterinarian even commented that he now has some fat pads! His weight at our initial consult was only 1152 lbs, now he's up to a fantastic 1476 lbs!
Client updates like these make me so grateful I am able to help folks and their animals regain their health. Thank you to Stevie’s Mom, his Veterinarians, farrier, trainer and team for trusting me to part of Stevie’s health journey.
